Vintage Card

I had a lot of fun making this Vintage style card and I used two papers and ripped the edge thru the middle and inked the edges.I then sprayed walnut inks over the top, green ink over the blue paper on the left and a brown ink over the right side. I had a list in my head of products I wanted to see on my card …pearls definitely, vintage flowers, lace which I left a frayed edge and wove some satin ribbon thru for extra detail , I even managed to add a feather. The big bow ribbon has detailed stitching and a perfect accent. I purchased this ruler ribbon on the bottom recently and was dying to use it! She is such a sweet little girl and she has that lovely vintage childhood memories feel to it, kind of like the Secret Garden.Vintage Card Sept 2012 004

Roses & Ribbon Pocket Card

When I decided to use this Full Bloom Rose digi this week from Happileigh Scrappin all I could visualise was a pot full of flowers. So I made a Flower Pot Pocket Card and changed the dimensions to suit my image. I used a kraft coloured cardboard scrap of packaging that had black marker writing on it and most of that is concealed by being either under designer paper or inside the pocket, but the kraft colour was just right for what I had in mind. After I made the base of the card I sponged the edges with pink ink inside and out and now it’s finished you would never that I recycled this cardboard but I’m trying to be thrifty and even the ribbon is from a box of chocolates I was given about three years ago.I also used a second lovely thick ribbon underneath and the sheer one over the top for a lovely effect. There is some gain by being a hoarder and today was the day I used a few bits and pieces up that have been in my stash for years!!! Roses Sept 2012 008

Grow With Love

I picked Watering my Garden digi from Soft Pencil Studios because this activity in Summer is so very relaxing for me and one of my all time favourite things to do at home! I used my Retro Flower Punch in two sizes to create my own flowers and they tone in nicely with my colour scheme.

Sympathy Card

I decided that I did not have a Sympathy Card and I wanted to have one ready, so I picked out Inspirational Cross 1 from Stamp Art Designs by Kathryne. I added a dimensional layer on lower leaves and the centre flower  and used dimensional adhesive. As soon as I made it I my Mother in Law needed it for a dear friend of hers. A friend of mine designed the sketch for me to use and I used some gingham to contrast with my background paper and colour matched my flower to the gingham. Another girlfriend gave me this lovely ribbon and this worked nicely to match in with my card. Sympathy Card Sept 2012 003

Sweet as Cherry Pie

This image reminds me of my girlfriend Tracey who makes amazing meals and especially desserts, so when I saw this image called Dotti Baking from Bugaboo Stamps I had to have it! I decided to make my own sentiment on the computer and I’m very pleased how it turned out.  I used my White Gel Pen to add tiny white dots to her dress and dimensional adhesive to really lift the pie…it’s making me hungry talking about it!  I managed to find some paper in my stash that has cherry’s and I’m committed to using what I’ve got and as I explore my stash I definitely have more than I thought! I used my button die to get the perfect colour for my buttons!

Lunch with the Girls

Pauline Guttrey came to the Gold Coast on holidays and dropped by for lunch at my place. We first met when I applied to be on Card Crafters Circle Design Team and my best friend Vicki Fraser who is also know as CardarTart who lives close by, joined us as well. We had a lovely lunch together and my husband was impressed that the luncheon was my inspiration to get cracking and clean the house!! I love a deadline!!!

Star Card

I am now a member of the Design Team at Twist of Faith and here is my card for the first challenge. I made a Star Card and used a paper pad I received Free with Australian Simply Cards Magazine recently, the paper is from Webster’s Pages Petite Papers-Collection Combo Pack. I used this cute Garden Angel from The Doodle Garden. I think the pearl brad gives it a upmarket look crossed with my shabby Chic vintage styling. I enjoyed distressing the edges and also inking every edge as well for additional dimension! I had fun making this card over several days! I borrowed my girlfriends oval dies for my focal point and I’m keen to add them to my Santa Wish List !Star Card 004
