Magic

Here I have used my fairy stamp again. I coloured her in using my Whispers Strokes Markers from Sugar loaf Products. I have a set of 36 markers and originally purchased from Kmart about three years ago. I used a little glitter to give it a lift.

Bird Punch Art

Trish's Cards January 2011 176

A freebie from a punch art lady at the Brisbane Craft show, I don't remember her name or what stand she was on, other than she was totally inspirational!

Home Sweet Home

I used my favourite clear stitching stamp and it added a little depth to the layering on my card.  A friend gave me this flower out of her stash and it was just what my card needed to finish off.

Face Painting

Here are some faces I painted for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in the Black Forest for Tweed Theatre Company on the Gold Coast in 2010. It’s great to have somewhere to record my artwork.

Here Snow White is asleep and……. whatever shall we do?

What a wonderful showcase of amazing talented actors and singers in this show.

I really enjoyed the challenge of painting their faces to suit their character roles. With each show I progressed better and faster. I’m a bit fussy but by the last show the kids looked great. I started out sketching each character on paper first so it was easier to remember what to do under the pressure of time. Lots of other Mum’s helped out to get the whole cast done on time. The secret ingredient was the thin brush with firm bristles and the black face paint made it easier to do fine detail and definitely moisturise their skin first. I had so much fun!

Trish's Cards January 2011 097_thumbAs a treat my good friend Vicki and I decided to attend a class at J.A.M. Creations in Machinery Drive at South Tweed Heads to make Vintage cards with the very talented Jackie McGee. We had so much fun and learnt about new products and ideas and the pleasure of making the cards was wonderful.  I was very pleased with the results and just couldn’t bear to part with them, I adore the pins we used to hold the bows they are just so cute. Naturally we purchased some new goodies after class and later went out for coffee at beautiful Coolangatta Beach. A really girly day!
I'm also very proud of my advances in technology as today I have managed three photos on my blog at once!

Masculine Card

Trish's Cards January 2011 105

I made this card on thick cardstock adhered the geometric paper then used a tissue paper dress design over the top and stamped some random images over the top and used diluted glue to adhere this sheet over the top .When this dried I sponged a bit of brilliance poppy red over to give some contrast. Then layered  this onto red and black cardstock. I used my new fleur de lee punch for detail. I learnt this paper technique from Kasha Rolley at a group of girls called Papermates who meet up once a month at the Salvation Army Hall in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast.

Happy Flower

Trish's Cards January 2011 227

I used two oval shapes to create my flower and ripped up a few leaves with scraps of green cardstock. I just ripped and then rolled petals of my flower with a bamboo skewer. My friend Vicki suggested it just needed a splash of glitter and voilà!

Honey

Honey my beautiful Golden Retriever takes me for a walk to the park almost every day and sometimes twice.
Together we could both loose a few kilos.

Anita's Princess Castle Birthday Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's 10th Birthday last year and I'm very proud my efforts. I found a video on you tube and there were step by step instructions. I took me hours longer than the demo girl but in the end the result was a great success and my daughter and her friends devoured it.

Happy New Year

My New Years resolution is to embrace technology as much as possible. This has been the inspiration to begin my journey and catch up with this fast paced world by writing this blog.
